(3928) Axial flow turbine, or Parallel flow turbine
A type of turbine in which the flow of water (non-rotational component of velocity) through the runner is in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation. The water is admitted and discharged at points separated axially. The fixed and movable blade propeller turbines are examples of this.
